Reading more Mary Oliver (from her book "Felicity") to get in the groove for NaNoWriMo. I procrastinated the hell out of today. Clean laundry that's been gathering for literal weeks was miraculously folded in the spirit of writing procrastination. SIX food projects completed. I started writing around 4pm and managed to write 22 poems. Daily goal is 17, so not a bad start. Just have to sit down, turn off WiFi, put on headphones, and do the work.

Every November, writers all over the world begin National Novel Writing Month. It's a 30 day sprint to write a 50,000 word novel. There's no editing, no pausing. Just get the thing—the bad first draft—down on paper. Last November, I wrote 500 poems for my own NaNoWriMo. This year, I'm doing it again.
